Stay and Play Therapy using the STAR Treatment Model:

Come and spend a week-long fully immersive therapy program that is supportive, interactive, and fun!

Children with SPD (Sensory Processing Differences) have been shown to benefit from intensive therapy using a sensory integration approach. GHS models our Stay and Play Therapy Program after the STAR Institute. Practicing what is known as “the Burst Model,” families come and stay nearby while receiving therapy services up to 5 times per week for 4-6 weeks at our state-of-the-art headquarters in Rescue, CA.

Our team members are certified as an Advanced Mentored Clinicians by the STAR Institute. The STAR Institute was founded by Dr. Lucy Jane Miller, the leading researcher in sensory processing. Our director, Robyn Chu, is on the STAR Institute Faculty.

We are one of the few clinics in the country to offer this type of service. We use a multi-disciplinary approach to support motor coordination, language development, feeding challenges, social connection, and independence with daily living skills. We provide comprehensive support from start to finish, including on-line support once your child graduates from support in the clinic.

Sensory Processing

Sensory processing shapes how we move, learn, connect, and regulate. It’s the silent partner in everything we do, from the simplest tasks to the most complex interactions, guiding our actions and shaping our experiences. This invisible foundation supports healthy growth, active participation, learning, and emotional well-being. When it’s supported well, children feel more comfortable, confident, and capable across all areas of life.

Things to Do Nearby

You can fly into the Sacramento International Airport and then stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites El Dorado Hills. This hotel is walking distance to great food, a grocery store, a movie theater, and coffee in the Town Center.
