Future Therapist Development Program

Our Future Therapist Development Program is designed to nurture and train the next generation of therapy professionals. Through hands-on experience in our clinics, the program offers prospective students and volunteers a unique insight into therapy careers, enriching both their educational journey and our community.

Future Therapist Development Program

Our Future Therapist Development Program is designed to nurture and train the next generation of therapy professionals. Through hands-on experience in our clinics, the program offers prospective students and volunteers a unique insight into therapy careers, enriching both their educational journey and our community.

Our Program

  • Introduces prospective students to therapy professions and gives them a chance to assist in our clinics.
  • Supports volunteers in their pursuit of therapy careers.
  • Meets the need for high-quality fieldwork education opportunities for colleges and universities, growing the number of highly qualified therapists serving the world.
  • Shares the gifts and efforts of students and volunteers with our staff and families.

Opportunities We Offer to Volunteers

  • The chance to observe and assist with high-quality therapy sessions alongside our clinicians (with parent permission).
  • Interaction with our clinicians and administrators to discuss cases and learn more about various therapy professions.
  • Support and encouragement, including references and recommendations, for pursuing their career goals.
  • Flexible employment (for some) on our administrative team while they pursue their education.

Learning While Helping

  • Assistance with setting up therapy rooms or preparing materials.
  • Assistance with clearing up therapy rooms or materials.
  • Play partnership during sessions.
  • Extra hands and play partnership during camps.
  • General clinic cleaning/laundry/organization.
  • Shredding and filing.
  • Maintaining outdoor spaces.
  • Extra smiles and help to families in the waiting room.

Opportunities We Offer Fieldwork Students

  • Experienced therapists who have the training and resources to support our students.
  • Exposure to the STAR model of supporting people with sensory challenges.
  • Hands-on experience during camps and therapy sessions.
  • Participation in our unique Mentoring Program and Connections Educational Programs.
  • Opportunities to learn across a variety of treatment settings (clinic, school, online, community-based).
