Deirdre Jene Geh Price

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant licensed, COTA/L

I graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 1983. I worked as a graphic designer in print and advertising. While raising my 2 daughters I substitute taught in our school district. This experience reminded me of my struggles leading me to pursue occupational therapy. I completed a certification program at Sacramento City College in 2015.

As a child, I experienced difficulties with learning and was blessed with a teacher who took the extra time to open my learning doors. Working as a school base OT allows me to pay it forward and support parents and teachers while they guide their students. I also work with adults in skilled nursing rehabilitation for orthopedic and neuro injuries. I love working as a COTA/L because of the connections and smiles, especially when a people of all ages feel success, confidence, and pride. I have enjoyed every moment of my career learning more about how to help children and adults be successful in their daily life and to live it fully.

I like to move my body and encourage others of all ages to move their bodies through yoga, various games and outdoor activities to enhance sensory, postural mechanisms, visual and fine motor development. I am passionate about the outdoors and whenever I have the opportunity, I am in the mountains hiking, skiing (I am a certified alpine ski instructor), snowshoeing or on a lake paddle boarding and when I am at home I am often landscaping and gardening.
