Stay and Play Therapy using the STAR Treatment Model:

Big progress in a short window of time.

Some children need more than one session a week to build regulation, communication, and confidence. Our Stay and Play Therapy Program offers a short-term, immersive experience that is supportive, interactive, and grounded in play.

Families stay nearby while their child receives therapy up to five times per week for four to six weeks at Growing Healthy Seasons. This structure provides the consistency and repetition children need to build skills, while keeping caregivers closely involved in the process

Is This Program Right for Your Family?

The Stay and Play Program is designed for families who are feeling stretched thin and searching for clearer answers. Many come to us after experiencing slow or inconsistent progress, ongoing regulation challenges, or the strain of managing multiple appointments without coordination. Others have been told to wait and see, even as their child continues to struggle.

The Stay and Play Program helps address:

  • Limited progress with once-a-week therapy
  • Ongoing meltdowns, sensory overwhelm, or feeding challenges
  • Delays that impact independence and daily participation
  • Caregiver fatigue from fragmented services
  • Children feeling overwhelmed or unsupported in traditional settings
  • The need for expert, whole-child care in one coordinated program

Proven, Science-Led Approach

Our program is modeled after the STAR Institute’s Burst Model, a research-informed approach designed to help children make meaningful gains through short-term, high-frequency therapy. Instead of spreading progress out over months, this model creates momentum through focused, sensory-informed care.

Children with sensory processing differences often benefit from this intensive approach because it supports the nervous system in building new patterns more efficiently.

Multidisciplinary Care

Our therapists are certified Advanced Mentored Clinicians through the STAR Institute, founded by Dr. Lucy Jane Miller, a leading researcher in sensory processing. Our director, Robyn Chu, serves on the STAR Institute faculty. We are one of the few clinics in the country offering this level of immersive care. Our multidisciplinary team works together to support:

  • Self-regulation and emotional development
  • Motor coordination and body awareness
  • Language and communication
  • Feeding challenges
  • Social connection
  • Independence with daily living skills

Science and Heart

Growing Healthy Seasons combines play-based therapy with immersive, high-frequency support so children feel safe, understood, and ready to grow. Play is a research-backed way to build trust and support learning at a child’s developmental level, making progress feel natural and engaging.

Our sensory-informed, neurodivergent-affirming approach honors each child’s nervous system and individual needs. This heart-led model supports regulation, confidence, and skill development, creating meaningful progress that lasts.
