Angie’s road to becoming an SLP was not linear. She earned an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of La Verne (1988) then went on to obtain a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification from Loma Linda University (1989). Her desire to remain as a helping professional eventually led her to earn a graduate degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Redlands (1996).

Every step afforded Angie the knowledge base and experiences that shaped her passion for assisting individuals achieve effective communication skills and strategies to connect to others and those within their communities. She focuses on developing meaningful learning opportunities that require individualizing services based on strengths and needs as well as the desires of the family/caregivers. Working at different capacities in various settings (academia, hospital, school, and in-home) influenced her work principle of collaboration as a key practice for acquiring collective knowledge, experience, and expertise of different team members. She feels privileged to work alongside devoted and talented clinicians here at Growing Healthy Seasons where every professional is encouraged to share their ideas and perspectives as they work together to help transform the lives of individuals and their families.

At work, Angie mentors/supervises clinicians, participates in program development, and serves her clients via telehealth. During the weekends, she stays active by playing tennis, doing sound healing and yoga, and prioritizes spending time with family and friends.
